Shirt by: Boli and Chip
Jeans by: Armed Angels
Boots by: No Animal Brand
Kimono by: Under Protection

Remember when I talked about that I’m seriously lacking basics? Well, here’s a classic “jeans and t-shirt” outfit that has that little something. The star of the show is the Herbivore t-shirt. It fits nicely and has that vegan message in an elegant design.

HERBIVORE SHIRT
The shirt is made from 100% organic cotton and ethically and eco-consciously made just like all of Boli and Chip’s products. Boli and Chip is a spanish brand, created by a vegan mom that offer shirts, sweatshirts, baby clothes, kids clothes and bags, all with a vegan message, simple and minimalistic. I love their prints and elegant yet minimalistic designs and of course, their philosophy! I could also see this shirt dressed up a bit with a blazer or making it more girly with a skirt instead of jeans.

JEANS 99€
The Armed Angels jeans are my number one go-to jeans. They are tight, skinny fit, in a classic colour and a little high waisted. If you are used to High Street jeans, be aware though: these jeans don’t have that high percentage of elastane that makes them super stretchy. So when they come straight from the washing, they are a little bit difficult to put on.

OVERKNEE BOOTS (currently 80€)
You won’t believe these are vegan and made in Spain!
Founded by a model and a stylist, the styles of No Animal brand are contemporary and fashion forward. They’ve received a Vegan Fashion Award by PETA for their design, vegan philosophy and use of high quality materials including anti-bacterial materials.

KIMONO 80€ (on sale)
I’ve been wearing this kimono a lot. At home as lounge wear, when I want to add a little warmth to an outfit or an extra layer an texture. It has tassels all over and a ties in the waist. Under Protection is a Danish brand that manufactures underwear, loungewear, swimwear and more ethically using sustainable fabrics.

Life Update: Today’s my 21st birthday but you won’t be seeing me in London’s vegan restaurants and rooftop bars tonight. I’m at a field trip in the Lake District with uni until Tuesday. I do want to celebrate my 21 years on earth though – next weekend. So be excited for birthday outfits on Instagram next week! 😊

BLUE BIKINI BY THE LAKE

BAMBOO COLLECTION TOP & BOTTOMS BY Bare Beach

Did you know that more than 8 million tons of plastic are dumped into the ocean every year? Do you know what happens with the plastic in our oceans? Fish eat it (fish that you might eat for dinner!), it kills sea animals and it makes your beach vacay look not so good. So what should we do with all that plastic if not dump into the sea? How about making super cute swimwear out of it!

That’s what Bare Beach does. They recycle plastic and manufacture ethical bikinis out of the created fabric. The produce every bikini in North America. That’s why Bare Beach is not just an ethical company but also a sustainable one. They also use EcoEnclose packaging produced from 100% recycled content and stand up for a planet with less waste!

I’ve certainly enjoyed my day at the lake in my recycled bikini. Laying in the sun feels so much better with a good conscience.

BLACK SWIMSUIT IN BALI

BLACK HALTERNECK SWIMSUIT BY RubyMoon

If you buy swimwear from your high street fashion brand, you are contributing to unethical working conditions: unfair wages, unethical working hours, unsafe factories.

Not cool.

Better? RubyMoon Swimwear for example.

RubyMoon manufactures ethically using sustainable materials and helps women set up and grow businesses across the globe. 100% of the net profits generated by RubyMoon are lent out as small loans, to empower women entrepreneurs in eleven nations. In addition, RubyMoon chooses sustainable materials – ECONYL® nylon yarn from used fishing nets and other waste material is used in our quality swimwear fabrics. Unlike others, RubyMoon doesn’t use petroleum to make swimwear.

This swimsuit is very classy and can even be worn as a top like I did with some Armed Angels jeans shorts.

Letting workers risk their health and life for your summer clothes is a no no. Plus, the quality of fast fashion clothes is terrible.

The long sleeve blouse by Gnana Studio protects you from mosquito bites and chilly summer nights. Gnana Studio only uses cruelty free (vegan) fabrics and no plastic materials which makes them a sustainable company. Plus, the label is sweatshop free, respecting human rights.

The mini skirt by Aware is one of my summer favourites. It fits perfectly in the waist since you can wrap it and tie it yourself. It can be purchased together with a matching top which not only makes creating an outfit easier but also enables you to mix and match. Aware is a Spanish label producing in Barcelona.

LITTLE BLACK BATHING SUIT

BLACK ‘JUDITH’ SWIMSUIT BY Shetoldme:

The swimwear industry is just like the fashion industry: full of unfair labour, environmentally damaging production practices and sometimes even animal cruelty. Additionally, the swimwear ads show extremely photoshopped and unrealistic female bodies that don’t support body positivity at all.

Shetoldme promotes their swimwear according to feminist principles, using realistically looking and diverse models for their advertising. They are also cruelty free and sweatshop free! Their designs are amazing too.

The black swimsuit ‘Judith’ fits perfectly and has that cheeky coverage I love! I personally recommend everyone who wants that staple black bathing suit, to go for this fair fashion piece.

MY FAVOURITE VEGAN SANDALS THIS SUMMER

IRENE BROWN SANDALS BY Nae

GLITTER SANDALS BY Scotti

If you follow me on my Instagram, you know that I’ve been traveling a lot this summer. To my trips to Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia I’ve only packed 4 pairs of shoes: trainers, high heels and 2 pairs of sandals. On my travels I’ve been walking a lot in those sandals and both shoes look brand new! Because of their minimalistic design they are quite versatile too. While the glitter sandals can be worn to the beach and at night outs, the brown/ nude sandals are ideal for the city and dinners. They are simple yet chic and most important of all: vegan and ethically produced.

The brown sandals by Nae are made using a CO2 free manufacturing system in Portugal from microfibre. The glitter ‘Riva’ sandals by Scotti are also made zero CO2 emission production processes in Italy from a new microfibre that is made from natural renewable sources (vegetable seeds!). Scotti is also Peta Vegan approved.

First of all, the quality of this bikini is amazing! This swimsuit is so well made you will forget your fast fashion H&M bathing suits that contribute to unfair wages and even child labour, in seconds. The fabric feels incredible and the designs of Armeria are unique and super sexy. Armeria manufactures their swimwear ethically in Bali, contributing to the fair fashion movement, and hand paints their swimwear prints in the UK.

I’m definitely excited for future swimwear of Armeria and since this brand is so awesome, they even gave me a discount code to offer you guys!

VEGAN SHIRT IN HUA HIN

‘VEGAN No35’ SHIRT BY green because I can

JEANS SHORT BY Armed Angels

SUNGLASSES BY Ace and Tate

If you follow me on my Instagram, you know that I’ve been traveling around Asia, including Thailand. When I’ve been to the Sunday market in Bangkok I’ve decided to look at the pet shops there. It was one of the most horrible experiences I’ve made when it comes to animals. It made it even more clear that Asia is lacking in animal rights.

One more reason to spread the vegan message by wearing a sustainable and fair fashion t-shirt! ‘Green because I can‘ is a German label that produce ethically using vegan and sustainable certified organic materials. Their shirts are a staple in every closet. Their fabrics are super soft and the design is simple yet chic. I wore my ‘VEGAN’ shirt on my travels as a sleeping shirt, sports wear, airplane outfit and of course as a daytime outfit paired with Armed Angels jeans shorts and Ace and Tate sunglasses.

WHITE ‘PAMAIKAI’ DRESS BY Gnana Studio

SUNGLASSES BY Ace and Tate

Off the shoulder dresses and tops are huge right now and I love that style too. However, contributing to the unethical and unsustainable fast fashion industry which is one of the top polluting industries of the world, just to own a trendy dress, should not be an option.

This dress by Gnana Studio is ideal for the summer. It’s lightweight and perfect to wear over your bathing suit. It has adjustable sleeves and an adjustable cleavage – wear it loose or tight, off the shoulders or covering your shoulders.

Gnana Studio only uses cruelty free (vegan) fabrics but no plastic materials which makes them a sustainable company. Plus, contrary to companies that offer the latest trend as well like H&M or Zara, the label is sweatshop free, respecting human rights.
